Position Overview :
I am currently recruiting on behalf of this client to identify an experienced and highly capable Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their leadership team. The CFO will play a critical role in managing all aspects of financial operations, corporate strategy, and business growth planning. This is a hands-on, senior leadership position that requires both strategic vision and day-to-day operational oversight of the company’s financial infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead full-cycle financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management.
Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and compliance measures.
Provide strategic financial analysis to support business expansion, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Develop financial models and scenario planning to evaluate growth opportunities and business risks.
Manage all financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly statements, tax filings, and year-end audit processes.
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, invoicing, and collections.
Serve as the primary liaison with banks, financial institutions, auditors, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies.
Evaluate and optimize cost structures, pricing models, vendor agreements, and operational processes.
Partner closely with ownership on corporate strategy, investments, and business planning initiatives.
Lead and mentor internal finance and administration staff.
Key Qualifications :
Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and senior financial leadership roles (Canadian market experience strongly preferred).
CPA designation is strongly preferred.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP, taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Experience in small-to-mid-sized private companies, preferably within consulting, professional services, project-based industries, or technical sectors.
Proven ability to implement and optimize financial processes, systems, and reporting frameworks.
Bilingual in French and English is required.
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves approach.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner across departments and levels.
This position is based out of the organization’s head office in Montréal, QC, with in-office presence expected.
