Operates, maintains, and repairs cleaver brooks low pressure steam boiler(s) in conformance with regulatory codes.

Duties:
Ensures operating and maintenance procedures are carried out according to schedule and regulations for TSBC regulated equipment (air compressors; receivers; steam piping system components); by lubricating, repairing, replacing or installing equipment and/or parts or contracting out labour to certified gasfitter.

Ensures remote monitoring system and audio-visual alarms for safety devices are working correctly and are tested according to regulations.

Monitors and adjusts chemical treatment systems, temperature control systems, pressure and feed water levels; monitors and records meter and gauge readings to ensure distribution of steam to designated areas. Performs analysis on boiler systems such as combustion analysis, water treatment analysis, and steam efficiency analysis.

Education and Experience:
Certificate of competency as a 5th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of B.C. One year recent related experience.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
