You will be part of our dedicated team of 7 psychiatrists providing up-to-date, comprehensive, quality client-centred care to individuals and their families. The 16 bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (IPU) offers Acute Mental Health and Substance Use services in a safe, secure and accessible facility for the South Okanagan region. In addition to Inpatient services, our well established integrated Adult Mental Health programs include Short Term Counseling, Community Case Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, Physical Activation, Anxiety and Depression, DBT groups, as well as Seniors Mental Health and Rural Outreach. Our community child and youth mental health program features individual counselling, group counselling, DBT program and integrated psychiatric services. In this position you have the opportunity to teach medical students and participate in quality improvement and program development activities. • You hold, or are eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC).
• If you’re a US-trained physician with ABMS certification in psychiatry, you may be eligible to practice under the USA certified class.
• To practice medicine here, you’ll have coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
