A community health organization in Penticton is seeking Child and Youth Psychiatrists to provide quality, client-centered care in a collaborative environment. The role includes inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, teaching medical students, and engaging in quality improvement activities. Candidates should be eligible for licensure with the CPSBC and hold coverage with the CMPA, with the opportunity for leadership development.
Position Summary: Excellent opportunity for Child and Youth Psychiatrists looking to practice in a welcoming community setting where the lifestyle opportunities are endless. Two positions available to join Penticton Regional Hospital. You will be part of a dedicated team of 6 psychiatrists providing up-to-date, comprehensive, quality client-centered care to individuals and their families. The 16-bed Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (IPU) offers Acute Mental Health and Substance Use services in a safe, secure and accessible facility for the South Okanagan region. In addition to Inpatient services, our well-established integrated Adult Mental Health programs include Short Term Counseling, Community Case Management, Vocational Rehabilitation, Physical Activation, Anxiety and Depression, DBT groups, as well as Seniors Mental Health and Rural Outreach. The community child and youth mental health program features individual counselling, group counselling, DBT program and integrated psychiatric services. The role supports a diverse practice with a collaborative and experienced team of caring inter-disciplinary professionals. There is also an opportunity to teach medical students and participate in quality improvement and program development activities. The current call requirement is approximately 1:5 to 6 days with rotating weekends and is remunerated at MOCAP Level 2. In addition to child and youth psychiatry, this position may also involve general psychiatry.
