THE WORK

We are seeking experienced Contract Instructor Pilots to support our Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area in various CONUS and OCONUS locations. Learn more of our F-35 Fast Facts.

WHO YOU ARE

As a Contract Instructor Pilot, you will support military pilots in maintaining their qualification level in the Pilot Training Device by executing approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training. This position involves providing pilot training using the F‑35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS) and operating the Instructor Operating Station (IOS). The instructor will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for pilot training and tactics development, as well as recommendations for courseware updates.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide pilot training using the F‑35 Full Mission Simulator (FMS) and operate Instructor Operating Station (IOS)
  • Support military pilots in maintaining qualification level in the Pilot Training Device by executing approved pilot training syllabi, upgrade, and tactics training
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for pilot training and tactics development, as well as recommendations for courseware updates

  • Implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed
  • Comply with site security and access control procedures in accordance with F‑35 program and customer procedures
  • Sanitize all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, etc.) to the LRU in accordance with established F‑35 and customer procedures
  • Work closely with other members of the Lockheed Martin team at dedicated training sites to fulfill F‑35 training and continuation training objectives
  • Maintain a Secret level security clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) access
REQUIREMENTS
  • Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment
  • Ability to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature
  • Candidate must have a current final secret security clearance with investigation within 5 years and be able to maintain Special Program Access Clearance (PAR)
  • Strong systems engineering background
  • Candidate must have operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as NVS, LANTIRN, Helmet Mounted Cuing, and the latest weapons inventory
  • Must have in‑depth knowledge of military publications
  • Previous fighter pilot experience
  • Candidate must have worked in an environment which required them to interact with multiple functional areas and personnel of a diverse nature

  • Candidate must have prior experience in delivering military pilot academics and simulator training and be familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods
  • Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent leadership traits, strong oral & written communication abilities, solid ability to organize, and a high desire to provide customer satisfaction
SECURITY CLEARANCE STATEMENT

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years. Special Program Access Clearance (PAR).

WORK SCHEDULES & LOCATION
  • On‑site Full‑time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • Work schedules are non‑standard 40‑hour work week as assigned by leader.
  • Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed.
PAY RATE & BENEFITS

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington D.C. is $139,600–$246,100. Benefits offered include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short‑Term Disability, Long‑Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
