Job summary

YMCA is seeking a YPHD Programmer for the Before & After School program across multiple elementary schools in Halifax. The role focuses on delivering safe, inclusive, engaging programming that supports children’s growth in a welcoming environment.

Reporting to the Site Coordinator, you will ensure policy compliance, supervision, and smooth daily operations while collaborating with families and community partners to promote wellbeing and learning through play.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year childcare experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run developmentally appropriate programming for children.
• Provide safe, inclusive, and engaging activities.
• Maintain attendance records and family communications.
• Supervise children and ensure health and safety.
• Collaborate with YMCA staff and partners.
