Job summary

Fort McKay First Nation seeks a Youth Program Coordinator to help develop, implement, and deliver community youth programming. You will research youth needs, assist in forming a Youth Committee, and mentor Youth Workers to ensure engaging and safe activities.

You will plan programs, prepare financial and program reports, and coordinate outreach with Communications to maximize participation. A valid driver's license and a clean record are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in community program planning, recreation, social work, events, or related field.
• An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
• Experience working in a First Nations community including knowledge of culture, traditions and values.
• Valid class 5 Driver’s License & Clean Driver’s Abstract
• A clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check is required

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of community youth programming.
• Research and development of programs based on community needs and interests.
• Mentor and monitor Youth Workers and supervise activities for youth.
• Prepare plans and reports on youth activities, costs, participation and facilities usage.
• Collaborate with Communications to advertise youth programs and maximize outreach.
• Maintain contacts with local organizations and engage youth for participation.
