Job summary

Shared Health - Winnipeg Shared Health is seeking a Youth Residential team member for casual, in-person work with 12‑hour daily shifts. You will join an inter-disciplinary team supporting youth in a clinical, community-focused setting, reporting to SH - Youth Residential.

Requirements include high school completion, First Aid/CPR, and a valid Class 5 license with a clean driving record. Bilingual abilities are an asset; Indigenous knowledge is valued in this role.

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years related experience, is required, preferably in a substance use and/or mental health treatment setting.
• Crisis response experience is also desirable.
• Knowledge and experience in the areas of adolescence, at risk youth (i.e., FASD; ADHD; etc.,), addictions and mental health.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.
• Completion of the Child & Youth Care Certificate program or training in the social sciences is desirable, other combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and ASSIST training is desirable.
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license and suitable driving record.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification are required.

Physical Requirements

• Availability for shift work.

NOTE: Full-time positions involve a 4 on, 4 off shift rotation (two 7 AM - 7 PM, two 7 PM - 7 AM, 4 off).

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
