Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Yardperson/Warehouse Person at Blackwater Mine, BC. You will handle loading/unloading, parts picking, and stock organization while ensuring safety and high service levels for customers in all weather conditions.

You must have forklift operating experience and a valid Class 5 license, with strong attention to detail and a proactive safety mindset. Overtime and training opportunities are available in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three months of operating experience with rough terrain forklift, counterbalance forklift, large forklift, or similar equipment.
• Class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions and a clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical understanding to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; able to work under supervision or independently.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks; inspect equipment before shipment and after return for serviceability.
• Pick customer and branch parts orders; pack and label for shipment.
• Organize stock, move equipment to storage, and assist with returns and contract closures.
• Greet customers in the yard and assist drivers with loading/unloading rental equipment.
• Provide start/stop instructions and basic operating guidance to customers.

Job Description

• Loads and unloads company trucks, inspects equipment prior to shipment and on return for serviceability.
• Picking customer and branch parts orders
• Packing and labeling parts orders for shipment.
• Sorting and binning incoming stock
• Notifies the shop foreman on damaged or missing equipment.
• Assists rental counter personnel in selection of "rental ready" equipment for each transaction.
• Processes equipment returns and closing rental contracts.
• Performs other equipment inquiries through the company's computerized programming.
• Verifies fuel consumed and inspects all details of equipment when returned.
• Installs service tags on equipment returned from rental.
• Moves rental ready equipment back to proper storage areas following routine maintenance procedures by service shop.
• Presents ready-to-rent equipment in an orderly fashion.
• Performs general house-keeping of both the warehouse and yard.
• Greets customers in yard, helping direct them to office or unloading areas.
• Assists customers and delivery drivers in loading and unloading rental equipment.
• Gives customers start/stop and general operating instructions on rental equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) months of operating experience of rough terrain forklift, counterbalance forklift, Large forklift (>30,000 Lbs.) and/or operating construction equipment.
• Class 5 Drivers License with no restrictions, successful drivers abstract required.
• Solid understanding of rental equipment and possess sufficient mechanical skills to perform and/or recommend minor equipment repairs.
• Strong organizational skills, with good attention to detail.
• Committed to a safe work environment, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Due to physical nature of the work, a requirement of the job is to be considered fit for work.

Important Information

This position is based in Blackwater Mine Site, BC on a 7x7 continuous shift. (Dayshift) Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
