Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking two Field Lube Service technicians based at Blackwater Mine Site, BC. The successful candidates will be mechanically inclined with field and customer experience and will perform scheduled oil sampling, belt changes and fluid filters.

This permanent position offers a starting pay of 31.09 CAD per hour, industry-leading employer paid benefits, an RRSP plan, training opportunities, boot allowance and ample growth potential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with hands-on equipment servicing, diagnostics and repair.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Strong safety attitude and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Experience using Rentalman, SIS, and warranty management systems preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of Caterpillar product lines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled oil sampling, belt changes and fluid filters per contract.
• Perform maintenance per machine checklists.
• Conduct visual machine condition reporting incl. Product Link components.
• Coordinate parts ordering, maintenance and stock for service truck.
• Communicate electronically and document service reports.
• Make first contact with customers for PM scheduling.
• Be environmentally responsible in sensitive work areas.
• During PMs install PL542 Product Link systems and register via CAT Activate.

Job Description

Perform scheduled oil sampling, belt changes and fluid filters (oil/air/fuel) as per contract agreements

Perform maintenance as per machine specific checklists

Conduct visual machine condition reporting; including visual inspection of Product Link components

Coordinate ordering parts, maintain, and stock service truck

Fluent in electronic communications and service reporting

Must be able to make first customer contact for PM scheduling

Environmentally responsible for sensitive work areas

During schedule maintenance, install 'plug & play' Product Link "PL542" systems, and register using "CAT Activate"

Qualifications

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with proven hands-on experience in equipment servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair; prior field or shop experience is required. A valid class 5 drivers license with a successful drivers abstract

Strong commitment to safety, with a proven history of following policies, procedures, and best practices.

Proven ability to maintain vehicle cleanliness in compliance with contamination control standards.

Experience working with Rentalman, SIS, and warranty management systems is strongly preferred, with the ability to accurately document work and navigate service-related processes.

Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal

Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset

Important Information

This position is based at Blackwater Mine Site on a 7x7 Shift. (6:00am-6:00pm) Hours and shift schedule may be subject to change to meet customer and/or Finning (Canada) requirements. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
