Yard Worker/Service & Maintenance

Location: Calgary, AB

Scope Of Position

The Yard Worker is responsible for servicing and maintaining PERI products and equipment to ensure optimal operation. This role also involves repairing and maintaining components using hand and power tools, and performing quality control on all returning materials.

What You'll Do On a Typical Day

• Count and service parts to meet quality, productivity, and rental standards.
• Differentiate parts and components based on colours, shapes, and sizes.
• Manually handle large and small formwork and scaffolding components.
• Remove, repair, and replace basic components using various hand and power tools, such as hammers, screwdrivers, drills, saws, grinders, and rivet guns.
• Log service work records accurately.
• Participate in cycle counts and inventory processes.
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Attend all health and safety meetings and demonstrate a strong safety commitment.
• Follow all PERI policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
• Respect work procedures and use personal protective equipment when required.
• Report hazards and accidents promptly.
• Prioritize health and safety for yourself and colleagues.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Need To Be Successful

• Previous outdoor work experience with hand and power tools preferred.
• Ability to handle large and small parts for material preparation and movement.
• Ability to differentiate between colours, shapes, and sizes.
• Basic math skills for counting and measurements.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
• Compliance with respiratory protection requirements when necessary.

Working Conditions

• Work performed indoors and outdoors year-round.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, grime, forklift, and truck traffic.
• Moderate noise levels.
• Potential overtime during weekdays and weekends.
• Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators in warehouses.
• Ability to lift up to 10 kg regularly and 20 kg occasionally.
• Standing and walking for up to 8.75 hours daily.
• Reach at and above shoulder level as needed.
