Harbour Link Container Services Inc. in Delta, BC, is seeking a motivated Yard Worker to join our Yard Operations team.

You will verify container acceptance and release, update interchanges in our terminal software, inspect units, and coordinate truck pickups while keeping the yard orderly and safe. The successful candidate lifts up to 50 lbs, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and ability to operate a terminal management system.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Forklift experience would be an asset.
• Customer service background is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Verify container acceptance and release at the terminal.
• Enter container interchanges into the terminal management software.
• Inspect containers entering and leaving the terminal.
• Coordinate truck pickups and arrivals.
• Respond to email and phone inquiries.
• Maintain cleanliness of yard and assist with daily operations.

CAREER OPPOURTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Yard Worker to join our Yard Operations team, reporting to the Manager of Container Yard Operations. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic and motivated self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.

JOB DUTIES

• Verify the acceptance and release of containers entering and leaving the terminal
• Perform and update container interchanges into the Company’s computerized terminal management software
• Inspect containers as they enter and leave the terminal
• Coordinate truck pickups and arrivals
• Respond to email and phone calls
• Sweep / wash the inside of containers
• Monitor refrigerated container temperatures
• Prepare inventory reports as required
• Maintaining cleanliness of yard

QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Previous customer service experience would be an asset
• Fork lift experience would be an asset

TRAINING PROVIDED

• Dangerous Goods training
