Herc Rentals Inc. is seeking a Yard Worker in Carleton Place, Ontario. The role supports shop operations with a Monday to Friday schedule, handling loading, staging, and inspection of rental equipment and maintaining yard organization.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, careful handling of up to 50 lbs, and basic repairs under supervision. A valid G license and ability to operate equipment are required, with indoor/outdoor work as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid G driver’s license required.
• Recent abstract will be required.
• Equipment operating experience is an asset.
• Warehouse or general labour experience is an asset.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors as required.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading of rental equipment.
• Verify equipment status on the yard.
• Stage equipment for delivery and maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair earth moving and aerial equipment.
• Review reservation reports to ensure correct equipment is ready to rent.
• Wash and light maintenance; perform function checks before next rental.
• Conduct equipment quality inspections.
• Maintain yard organization.
• Interact with customers as needed.

Job Purpose

Our branch is looking for a yard worker to maintain organization of the yard and equipment all while providing support to shop operations. This position is Monday to Friday.

What you will do...

• Loading and unloading of rental equipment
• Status verification of equipment on the yard
• Stage equipment for delivery
• Stage equipment for maintenance and repair activity
• Ability to diagnose and repair earth moving and aerial equipment
• Review reservation reports to ensure the correct equipment is ready to rent
• Wash and light maintenance of equipment, function checks of equipment prior to the next rental
• Equipment quality inspections
• Maintain organization on the yard
• Ability to deal with customers as required
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements
