Job summary

Toromont Cat in Dartmouth, NS, is seeking a Yard Person to join our team. You will maintain yard inventory and support shipping/receiving of equipment, ensuring safe and efficient daily operations. The role is full-time and permanent with a pay range of CAD 49,845 to 62,305 annually.

You will work with Caterpillar equipment and collaborate with Equipment Coordinators to keep the yard organized and secure. Minimum post-secondary education and experience operating heavy equipment are required,

• Experience operating various types of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound work behaviours at all times.
• Assist Equipment Coordinators with daily yard inventory control.
• Coordinate heavy equipment shipping, receiving and repairs with the service dept.
• Ensure machines leave the yard in good, safe condition.
• Provide digital pictures and documentation of equipment movements.
• Organize and file all yard documents promptly.
• Maintain yard security at all times.
• Assist with minor repairs, snow removal, and steam cleaning as needed.

Toromont Cat is looking for a Yard Person to join our team in Dartmouth! Our Yard Person provides superior service to support internal and external customers by maintaining the daily operation of yard inventory including the shipping and receiving of equipment.

Pay Type

Full Time, Permanent

Compensation

$49,845.00 to $62,305.00

The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Assist Equipment Coordinators with daily Branch inventory control for all equipment and attachments
• Coordinate heavy equipment shipping, receiving and repairs and updates with the service department
• Ensure new and used machines leave the yard in good and safe working condition
• Provide digital pictures and all documentation of equipment entering and leaving the yard
• Organize, track and file all documents in a timely manner
• Ensure yard security is maintained
• Assist with other tasks as required including minor repairs to building, snow removal and steam cleaning of equipment

Must-haves for this role:

• Minimum post-secondary education
• Relevant work experience operating various types of Heavy Equipment
