Job summary

Toromont Cat in Dartmouth is seeking a Yard Person/Gatehouse to support internal and external customers by maintaining daily yard operations, including shipping and receiving of equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum post-secondary education.
• Relevant work experience handling a wide range of heavy equipment and proven gatehouse experience.

Responsibilities

• Occupy the gatehouse and manage all vehicle traffic entering and exiting the yard.
• Provide directions and assistance to customers and truck drivers on arrival.
• Ensure individuals entering have required PPE and provide guidance as needed.
• Monitor video footage to support site safety and security.
• Coordinate heavy-equipment shipping and receiving activities.
• Organize, track, and file documentation accurately and on time.
• Ensure the building is fully secured at end of shift.

Toromont Cat is looking for a Yard Person/Gatehouse to join our team in Dartmouth! Our Yard Person/Gatehouse provides superior service to support internal and external customers by maintaining the daily operation of yard inventory including the shipping and receiving of equipment.

Pay Type

Full Time, Permanent

Compensation

$49,845.00 to $62,305.00

The listed base salary is just one component of our total rewards package, and performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available.

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally responsible, and healthy work behaviors aligned with Toromont’s Health & Safety Policies and Programs.
