Job summary

Universal Group is hiring a Yard Assistant in Ottawa to manage rental operations in the warehouse and yard. You will work closely with the rental office and warehouse staff to keep inventory organized and processes efficient.

The role requires a valid G-class drivers license, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and strong English communication. Forklift certification and truck/trailer driving are assets. This position offers full-time hours, with growth opportunities within a growing team.

Qualifications

• Valid G-class drivers license and own vehicle (Required).
• Available to work full-time Monday - Friday between 5am - 3pm (Required).
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills (Required).
• Ability to regularly lift up to 100 lbs. with good stamina (Required).
• CSA Grade 1 boots (green label) with 6-inch cuff and electrical shock resistance (Required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee rental operations in the warehouse and yard.
• Coordinate with the rental office and warehouse staff.
• Marshal municipal staff to increase yard efficiency.
• Maintain organization and inventory checks in the yard and warehouse.
• Assist with loading/unloading vehicles and spot-checking vehicle checks.
