Job summary

Bartle & Gibson is seeking a yard operations supervisor in Calgary, Alberta. The role focuses on maintaining yard safety, housekeeping, and efficient access/departure procedures while ensuring top-tier service for drivers and customers.

You will direct yard activities, uphold product quality, and drive productivity aligned with company objectives. The position requires the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years yard experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing and/or electrical industry products will be asset.
• Forklift experience an asset.
• First Aid Certificate an asset.

• Responsible for all yard operations, safety, and housekeeping
• Ensure proper procedures are followed for accessing and departing the yard
• Ensure high level of customer service both for truck drivers and customers
• Direct and control all activities in the yard
• Maintain high level of product quality
• Work towards achieving company objectives regarding productivity, customer service
• Ensure adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure a positive and safe work environment
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Reliable, ability to carry out tasks correctly while under pressure
• Be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to follow instructions meticulously
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
• Team player, adaptable, energetic with a positive professional attitude
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Problem solver and able to deal with product and people issues that may occur

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Previous Yard experience - min 2 years
• Knowledge of plumbing and/or electrical industry products will be considered an asset
• Forklift Experience an asset
• First Aid Certificate an asset
