Job summary

Bartle & Gibson Ltd. is seeking a Yard Operations Associate to oversee yard activities, ensure safety, and maintain housekeeping standards.

You will guide access and departure procedures, support customers and truck drivers with a high level of service, and supervise daily tasks to meet company objectives for productivity and quality.

The role requires the ability to work under pressure, lift up to 50 lbs, and follow instructions meticulously while promoting a positive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard operations and safety procedures preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain accuracy.
• Forklift experience and knowledge of plumbing/electrical products are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all yard operations, safety, and housekeeping.
• Ensure access and departure procedures are followed in the yard.
• Provide high level of customer service for truck drivers and customers.
• Direct and control daily activities in the yard.
• Maintain high level of product quality.
• Contribute to productivity and customer service objectives.
• Adhere to company and safety policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as required.

Job description

• Responsible for all yard operations, safety, and housekeeping
• Ensure proper procedures are followed for accessing and departing the yard
• Ensure high level of customer service both for truck drivers and customers
• Direct and control all activities in the yard
• Maintain high level of product quality
• Work towards achieving company objectives regarding productivity, customer service
• Ensure adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures
• Ensure a positive and safe work environment
• Other duties as required

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Reliable, ability to carry out tasks correctly while under pressure
• Be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to follow instructions meticulously
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
• Team player, adaptable, energetic with a positive professional attitude
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Problem solver and able to deal with product and people issues that may occur

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Previous Yard experience - min 2 years
• Knowledge of plumbing and/or electrical industry products will be considered an asset
• Forklift Experience an asset
• First Aid Certificate an asset
