Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited seeks motivated, customer-oriented individuals to join our team in Ottawa. You will wash and prepare pumps and power equipment, keep our yard tidy, assist drivers and operate a forklift, while maintaining equipment and inventory accuracy year-round.

Qualifications

• Valid Class G/5 driver’s license with clean/satisfactory abstract (max 3 demerit points).
• Must be able to lift ~50 lbs.
• Forklift license or experience is an asset.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round.
• Mechanical aptitude or equipment operation experience is an asset.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Wash/clean pumps and power equipment when returned.
• Maintain clean equipment yard and wash bay.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading equipment.
• Operate heavy-duty forklift.
• Check equipment for damage and file service tags.
• Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
• Deliver small equipment and tools when needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Wash/Clean pump and power equipment (generators, dewatering and sewage pumps, etc.) when it’s returned.
• Maintain a clean and organized equipment yard and wash bay area.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading equipment.
• Operate heavy-duty forklift.
• Check equipment for damage upon return, report damage and fill out service tags for all returned equipment.
• Assist with inventory management.
• Deliver small equipment and tools if needed.Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.

Qualifications And Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Valid Class G/5 driver’s license required, with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You’ll be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Forklift license or experience operating forklifts is an asset.
• Must be comfortable with working outdoors year-round.
• Mechanical aptitude and/or previous experience operating equipment is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter, very customer-service oriented and works well in a team environment.
• Curiosity to learn new things & understand more about construction equipment and the rental industry.
• Comfortable with computers/technology (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.)
• Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping/receiving, and warehouse best practices is an asset.
