Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is hiring a Yard Coordinator in Burlington, ON. This hands-on role keeps the yard organized, equipment clean, and ready for rentals. You’ll inspect returns, stage gear for upcoming rentals, and ensure safety in daily yard operations.

You’ll thrive outdoors, stay active, work with a collaborative team, and learn about construction equipment and the rental industry. Overtime may be required and full-time hours offer year-round stability.

Qualifications

• Class G driver’s license with clean abstract (provide when requested).
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round and performing physically active work (lift ~50 lbs).
• Forklift experience or construction equipment operation is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude or interest in learning construction equipment.
• Proficient with computers to complete inspections and update equipment info.
• Dependable, organized with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer-service mindset and professional interactions with customers and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment on return, report damage or maintenance, complete service tags.
• Stage and move equipment around the yard for rentals, deliveries, and returns.
• Ensure equipment is rent-ready by checking condition and inspections.
• Wash and detail equipment using appropriate cleaning products.
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading equipment.
• Safely operate forklifts and different construction equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe yard and wash bay.
• Support fueling, tire storage, and general yard duties as needed.
• Communicate equipment status and needs to team members.
• Collaborate with drivers, mechanics, rental coordinators and others to keep operations smooth.
• Follow health and safety policies and safe work practices.
• Help the team and customers as needed.

Job Summary: As a Yard Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in keeping our branch running smoothly and ensuring our rental equipment is clean, safe, and ready for our customers. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll work with a variety of construction equipment—inspecting returns, staging equipment for upcoming rentals and deliveries, cleaning and detailing equipment, and keeping the yard safe and organized.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Inspect equipment as it is returned to the yard, identify and report visible damage or maintenance concerns, and complete service tags as required.
• Stage, organize, and move equipment throughout the yard to support upcoming rentals, deliveries, and returns.
• Help ensure equipment is rent‑ready by checking its general condition and completing required inspections.
• Wash, dry, and detail rental equipment using pressure washers, vacuums, and appropriate cleaning products.
• Assist drivers with safely loading and unloading equipment.
• Safely operate forklifts and a variety of construction equipment as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized equipment yard and wash bay.
• Assist with fueling, tire storage, moving equipment, and other general yard duties as needed.
• Communicate equipment status, damage, or service needs to the appropriate team members.
• Work closely with drivers, mechanics, rental coordinators, and other branch team members to help keep day‑to‑day operations running smoothly.
• Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
• Pitch in wherever needed to support the team and our customers.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You’ll be required to provide an updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Comfortable working outdoors year‑round and performing physically active work, including standing for extended periods and lifting approximately 50 lbs.
• Forklift experience and/or experience operating construction equipment is a strong asset.
• Mechanical aptitude or an interest in learning how construction equipment works is an asset.
• Comfortable using computers and technology to complete inspections, update equipment information, and perform other day‑to‑day tasks.
• Dependable and organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to keep up in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
• Positive, team‑oriented attitude with a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to speak up when you notice equipment damage, safety concerns, or something that doesn’t look right.
• Customer‑service mindset and a professional approach when interacting with customers, drivers, and team members.
• Eager to learn and develop your knowledge of construction equipment and the equipment rental industry.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required.

Pay Range:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
