Job summary

RONA in Charlottetown, PEI is hiring for a yard/lumber associate. You will help customers with lumber and building materials, assist with loading, and keep the yard neat and safe. The role involves physical work and teamwork within a busy retail environment.

The position offers full-time hours with an emphasis on safety, stock management, and customer satisfaction. Prior knowledge of building materials is a plus and accommodation can be requested during interviews.

Qualifications

• Provide expert customer service for lumber and building materials.
• Knowledge of building materials considered an asset.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds and work in a physical role.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with expert advice and assistance for lumber and building material needs.
• Assist customers in loading product safely and efficiently.
• Check invoices and verify correct product is provided.
• Assist with daily upkeep of the department including unloading trucks, stocking, organizing stock, cleaning, labeling, and maintaining pallets.
• Open/close duties as needed in the Yard.

Your role:

• Provide customers with expert advice and assistance for their lumber and building material needs
• Assist customers in loading product safely and efficiently
• Check invoices and verify correct product is provided
• Assist with the daily upkeep of the department including off loading trucks, culling lumber, organizing stock, cleaning, price labelling, and maintaining pallets/stock
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers
• Opening and closing duties as needed in the Yard
• Other related tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly

• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Knowledge of building materials is an asset
