Job summary

RONA in Winkler, MB is seeking a Yard Associate to help customers with lumber and building materials, load products, and keep the yard organized and safe.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, label prices, and assist with opening and closing the yard. The role emphasizes strong customer service, accuracy, and teamwork in a bustling retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting customers in a hardware/building materials environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely.
• Knowledge of building materials is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with expert advice on lumber and building materials.
• Assist customers with loading product safely and efficiently and verify invoices.
• Support daily department upkeep: unloading trucks, stocking, labeling, and organizing pallets.
• Maintain a clean, safe yard and assist with opening/closing duties.

Your role:

• Provide customers with expert advice and assistance for their lumber and building material needs
• Assist customers in loading product safely and efficientlyCheck invoices and verify correct product is provided
• Assist with the daily upkeep of the department including off loading trucks, culling lumber, organizing stock, cleaning, price labelling, and maintaining pallets/stock
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers
• Opening and closing duties as needed in the Yard
• Other related tasks to ensure the store runs smoothly

• Knowledge of building materials is an asset
