Job summary

Gardewine in Winnipeg is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to manage routine payable tasks and support the accounting team. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely processing of invoices, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong customer service.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, solid communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while upholding Safety and Health policies.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with general accounting practices, including journal entries and debit/credit memos.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Gardewine computer systems is an asset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of Safety & Health policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Record and review accounts, and prioritize collection activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Contact customers to secure payment and follow up on outstanding accounts.
• Resolve issues related to payment delays or discrepancies.
• Communicate account status updates to the Controller and other finance management.
• Perform basic accounting functions including preparing and issuing documents such as bills, invoices, reports, and account statements using a computerized system.
• Maintain accurate data entry, track documents, and ensure records are up to date.
• Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
• Participate in and support all Safety and Health initiatives.
• Perform other related clerical duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking a Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Winnipeg, MB.

Summary

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, with a primary focus on accounts payable and general office duties. This role supports the operational functions of the accounting department and ensures financial records are accurately maintained. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to uphold a high standard of customer service.

Physical Requirements

Some of the physical demands may include, but not be limited to: prolonged sitting and using a computer and telephone for entire shift etc.
