Job summary

Gardewine is seeking a Class 1 – Linehaul Driver to deliver freight across Manitoba and North America with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. The role features overnight/regional runs, trailer pickup/drop-offs, and completing all required paperwork.

A valid Class 1 license with air brake endorsement and experience with manual transmissions are required, along with the ability to work independently and a proven night-shift history.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driver's license with air brake endorsement in good standing.
• Manual transmission experience (13 or 18 speed).
• Ability to work independently with a professional mindset.
• Proven history of working nights and safety-first approach.
• Two years highway driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver freight to terminal locations and provide friendly, helpful customer service.
• Generally responsible for trailer pickup/drop-offs and may handle freight at customer sites.
• Complete all required paperwork for the position.
• Work overnight regional runs; most routes allow you to be home daily or one night out.
• Operate overnights with mileage-based routing and slip seating/open board where applicable.

The Job

A Linehaul Driver is responsible for delivering freight to various terminal locations by providing friendly and helpful service to customers. Drivers are generally responsible for trailer pick up and drop offs but may be required to handle freight at customers’ locations. Generally, 10% or less physical activity using small equipment or hand moving freight. This is a long-distance driving position therefore long periods of sitting required. Completes all paperwork as required for this position.

• Operating over night / Slip seating / Open board / Mileage
• Regional deliveries, most runs result in you being home daily or one night out
• Trailer pick up and drop offs with small amount of freight at customers’ locations

The Need
