Agilus by Synergie in Calgary, Alberta, seeks a seasoned Workday Payroll, Time & Absence Functional Lead for a multi-year ERP harmonization project within the energy sector. Hybrid work arrangement with a mid-sized employer (~3,000 employees) awaits the right candidate.

Qualifications

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Workday Payroll, Time & Absence Functional Lead in the Utilities in a hybrid work environment in Calgary, Alberta. We are seeking a seasoned Workday Payroll, Time & Absence Functional Lead to support a multi-year ERP harmonization initiative within the energy sector. This project aims to streamline financial systems across a mid-sized organization of approximately 3,000 employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead Workday Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence workstream as part of the ERP harmonization program.
• Act as the primary functional advisor on Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence best practices.
• Drive design decisions, identify risks, and recommend scalable solutions aligned with the organization’s existing Workday configuration.
• Assess existing payroll, time, and absence configurations and determine opportunities for reuse.
• Assist with development of Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence testing strategies and scenarios.
• Partner with integration teams to assess impacts to upstream and downstream systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Workday functional experience with expertise in Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence.
• Deep functional knowledge of Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence, with the ability to advise on best practices, process optimization and scalable solution design.
• Experience supporting Workday workstreams within large-scale ERP, business transformation, or system harmonization initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead requirements gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and stabilization activities across complex, cross-functional programs.
• Experience assessing the impact of upstream and downstream systems, integrations, and business processes within a broader enterprise landscape.

Further additional qualifications

• Experience implementing Workday Payroll for acquisitions, mergers, legal entity consolidations, or employee population migrations.
• Experience migrating employees into an existing Workday tenant rather than completing a net-new deployment.
