Medavie in Canada is seeking a Workday HRIS Analyst to lead the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday Canadian Payroll and related modules. You will translate payroll needs into system solutions and partner with HR, Payroll and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.

This role emphasizes collaboration, testing, training, and continuous improvement, with responsibility for Tier 2 payroll support and release impact analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring Workday Canadian Payroll in a multi-unionized environment with complex rules.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to clearly explain technical details.
  • Proficiency in Workday configuration and Microsoft Office tools such as Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain Workday Canadian Payroll and related modules with data accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, HR, stakeholders to document requirements, assess feasibility, validate design options, and coordinate testing.
  • Develop and execute test plans, identify enhancements, and propose optimizations.
  • Provide Tier 2 payroll support, troubleshoot issues, and document root causes and preventive steps.
  • Prepare training materials and documentation for Payroll and related processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy regulations, and reporting needs.
  • Perform regular audits and corrections to maintain data integrity.
  • Monitor Workday releases and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Own intake, assessment, prioritization, and delivery of enhancements and fixes with stakeholders.

We are seeking a Workday HRIS Analyst to join our team and take the lead in configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Workday Canadian Payroll plus supporting one or more modules based on business needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical, detail‑oriented professional who can translate payroll and business requirements into effective system solutions, partner with cross‑functional teams, and help strengthen payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee experience.

WhatYou’llDo:

As aWorkday HRIS Analyst,your key responsibilities will include:

  • Workday Configuration & Optimization: Independently design, configure, andmaintainWorkday Canadian Payroll and other related modules, ensuring data accuracy,compliance. collective agreement requirements, and operational efficiency.

  • Collaboration: Partner withPayroll, HR, businessstakeholders, Centers of Excellence, and other Workday Module Leads to document requirements,assess feasibility,validatedesign options, coordinate testing, and gather feedback.

  • Testing & Enhancements: Develop and execute test plans,identifysystem enhancement opportunities, and recommend optimizations.

Support & Training:

  • Provide Tier 2 support forpayroll cycles, troubleshooting calculation/configurationissues,auditingand documenting root cause and prevention steps.

  • Prepare and deliver training materials, guides, and documentation for Payroll & other processes.

  • Compliance & Best Practices: Stay updated on Workday industry standards and ensure compliance with data security, privacy regulations, and reporting needs.

  • Data Accuracy: Perform regular audits and corrections tomaintainthe integrity of Workday data.

  • Release Reviews:MonitorWorkday releases and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.

  • Backlog Management:Own the intake, assessment, prioritization, and delivery of Workday Payroll enhancements, break-fixes, and operational issues, collaborating with stakeholders to balance business needs and system capacity.

  • Experience in complex unionized environments with multiple collective agreements.

  • Workday certificationsin Payroll, HCM and/or other Workday modules preferred.

  • A Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation is considered an asset.

  • Written and spoken bilingualism (French and English)areconsidered assets.

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation and regulatory requirements, including applicable Canada Revenue Agency andRevenuQuébec requirements, is considered an asset.

Pay Range:

61,221 - 68,873 CAD

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
