Job summary

Humber College is seeking a Work Integrated Learning Officer to coordinate on-campus and off-campus internships for the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences. You will ensure learning experiences align with program requirements and support students’ educational journeys.

The role requires five years of industry experience in Biomedical Science/Health Regulation, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with databases, Excel, and Word. North Campus-based role with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Three-year college diploma or University Degree in Health Sciences or related field.
• Five years of industry experience in Biomedical Science and Health Regulation sectors.
• Experience in database management.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, promote, coordinate, implement, and maintain on-campus and off-campus internship/placements for FHLS programs.
• Ensure experiential learning opportunities meet curricular requirements and support student learning journeys.
• Collaborate with FHLS Program Coordinators, Program Managers, Faculty and others to prepare and support learners for meaningful WIL experiences.
• Contribute to the administration of internship/placements across programs such as Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, and Infection Prevention and Control.

About The Work Integrated Learning Officer Role

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Officer plans, develops, promotes, coordinates, implements, and maintains on-campus and off-campus internship/placements for the assigned programs within the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences (FHLS). The WIL Officer ensures that the experiential learning opportunities provided meet the program curricular requirements and support students in their learning journey. The WIL Officer also works with the FHLS Program Coordinators, Program Managers, Faculty and others involved in the delivery and monitoring of internship/placements, to ensure that learners are prepared and that they are supported in a meaningful work integrated learning experience. The current portfolio of programs includes Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, Infection Prevention and Control, Clinical Bioinformatics, and Biomedical Sciences. Portfolios are subject to change with evolving program needs.

Education

Three-year college diploma or University Degree in one or more of the following sectors:
