Job summary

City Of Edmonton is seeking four Records Management Clerks for the Edmonton Police Service in the Digitization and Document Processing Unit. You will review and prepare reports for imaging, maintain files, and enter data to track imaged documents.

Proficiency with MS Office and imaging software is required. The role involves converting paper to electronic images, linking them to RMS occurrences, and maintaining workflow.

Qualifications

  • Completion of 12th grade with business subjects or related certificate program with microcomputer training.
  • Minimum 2 years word and information processing experience (or 2 years data entry with general office procedures).
  • Able to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 20 kg.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment handling high volume work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer and MS Office skills; scanning/imaging experience is an asset.

Job description

The Edmonton Police Service requires four self-motivated and energetic Records Management Clerks in the Digitization and Document Processing Unit.

Responsibilities
  • Review, sort and prepare reports for imaging.
  • General file maintenance.
  • Data entry for tracking imaged documents.
  • Conversion of paper documents to electronic images using Kodak imaging software, including batch capture, quality control and verification of documents to protect the integrity and authenticity of records.
  • Uploading and using custom software to link images to proper occurrences on a Records Management System (RMS).
  • Maintain appropriate workflow to meet the Edmonton Police Service’s requirements.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in microcomputer applications.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ diversified word and information processing experience. (or)
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to data entry or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college and a minimum of two (2) years’ diversified data entry experience including general office procedures.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting and moving boxes weighing up to twenty (20) kilograms.
  • Able to process a high volume of work efficiently and accurately under the pressure of a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, to exercise sound judgment, and to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong computer and MS Office skills.
  • Scanning/imaging and micrographics experience an asset.
  • Experience in a police or records environment would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of police applications including CAD, CPIC, JOIN, and Niche would be considered an asset.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 0700-1530 or 0800-1630 hours per week.

Salary Range: 21B, Salary Grade: 007, $25.17 - $31.25 (Hourly); $2,013.90 - $2,500.50 (Bi-Weekly); $52,563.31 - $65,262.53 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
