Job summary

Apex-Precision-Inc.-1 in Canada is seeking a Wire EDM Machinist responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Wire EDM equipment to produce precision parts from engineering drawings and customer specifications.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality and CNC teams to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate output. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years’ experience, a DEP in CNC Machining, can read GD&T drawings, and works with high autonomy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience programming, setting up, and operating Wire EDM equipment.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is an asset.
• Must be able to read technical drawings (GD&T).

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, setup sheets, and customer specifications to determine machining requirements.
• Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM machines, including selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, materials, and machining parameters.
• Optimize EDM programs, speeds, feeds, and machine settings to achieve required quality, accuracy, and production efficiency.
• Inspect first-piece and in-process parts, making adjustments as required to ensure conformance with specifications and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot basic programming, machining, tooling, and equipment issues and communicate more complex issues to the appropriate team.
• Complete production documentation, including job tracking, production quantities, setup information, and program changes.
• Maintain machines, tools, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition, including deburring, cleaning, and properly handling finished parts.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, CNC, Engineering, and other departments to support production, continuous improvement, and safe manufacturing practices.
