Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is offering a 4‑month co‑op in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, with hybrid work (in-office Tue–Thu, remote Mon and Fri). You will join a team of engineers to build scalable, reliable applications, participate in design reviews, and contribute across the full software lifecycle.

The program is designed to develop your skills through hands‑on experiences and mentorship, preparing you for a future in tech.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket).
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment.

Asa Software EngineeringCo‑op,you’ll gain hands‑on experience developing applications and systems that support business and customer solutions. We are currently looking for highly motivated students to join us in our Waterloo, Ontario, Canada office for a 4-month co‑op, running from January 5th – April 22nd, 2027. This is a hybrid position, where you are expected to be in the office Tuesday‑Thursday, with the opportunity to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Please note the salary range is expected to be between $52,650 CAD to $70,200 CAD.

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. The annual salary will be pro‑rated based on the length of the work‑term
