Job summary

Ledcor Highways Ltd. across Alberta offers winter casual road maintenance roles from October 1 to April 30. Candidates with Class 1, 2 or 3 licenses who want to work locally will help keep highways safe and supported by training and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include operating snowplow trucks and loaders, maintaining highways, and being on-call for weather events. Work outdoors in all conditions; recruitment emphasizes safety and community.

Qualifications

• Successful completion pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Valid Class 1, 2 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
• Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset, training provided

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways including assisting with Labourer duties (crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Be available for on call work to assist with weather events, emergencies and staff coverage as needed
• Work outside in all weather conditions
