Job summary

Apave Canada is seeking experienced Wind Technicians in Toronto, Ontario, to lead composite repairs on wind turbine components. The role involves supervising a team across field and shop, and coordinating with operations and technical services to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in composite repairs, deep knowledge of materials, and relevant safety certifications. Travel and on-site work are required, with health benefits after probation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience in composite repairs.
• Strong knowledge of composite materials, vacuum infusion, and gel coat application.
• GWO and IRATA certifications would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform advanced composite repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles and nose cones (structural, surface and lightning).
• Supervise and mentor a team of technicians in the field and shop.
• Assist with setup, inspection, and maintenance of wind turbine systems and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete projects and resolve issues.
• Maintain knowledge of industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up to date with wind turbine maintenance techniques and technology.
• Support rigging and platform operation teams.

Lead Composite Technician - Blade Repair in Toronto, ON

Apave Canada is currently seeking experienced Wind Technicians to join our Wind Services Department in Toronto, Ontario. We have full‑time opportunities available for Composite Technicians to support ongoing and upcoming wind energy projects in the region.

Job Duties:

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following certifications and experience:

• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including at heights.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Travel (including overnight stays out of town) will be required.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in composite repairs,
• Strong Knowledge of composite materials, vacuum infusion, and gel coat application,
• GWO and IRATA certification would be an asset.

Safety Requirements:

• Steel‑toe boots are required; Apave Canada will provide additional PPE.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Health benefits that meet or exceed industry standards will be provided after a 3-month probationary period.
