Job summary

Apave Canada in Fredericton, NB is seeking a Lead Composite Technician to perform advanced repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles and nose cones. You will supervise field and shop technicians and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams.

You should have 3+ years of hands-on composite experience, knowledge of vacuum infusion and gel coat, and safety certifications; travel and overnight stays may be required. Health benefits after probation are provided.

Lead Composite Technician – Blade Repair in Fredericton, NB

Apave Canada is currently seeking experienced Wind Technicians to join our Wind Services Department in Fredericton, New Brunswick. We have full‑time opportunities available for Composite Technicians to support ongoing and upcoming wind energy projects in the region.

Job Duties:

• Lead and perform advanced composite repairs on wind turbine blades, nacelles and nose cones (Structural, surface and lightning)
• Supervise and mentor a team of technicians in the field and shop

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and technical services, to complete projects and resolve any issues.
• Maintaining knowledge of industry best practices, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to wind turbine maintenance.
• Staying up to date with the latest wind turbine maintenance techniques and technology.
• Support rigging and platform operation teams.

Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following certifications and experience:

• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including at heights.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Travel (including overnight stays out of town) will be required.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in composite repairs,
• Strong Knowledge of composite materials, vacuum infusion, and gel coat application,
• GWO and IRATA certification would be an asset.

Safety Requirements:

• Steel-toe boots are required; Apave Canada will provide additional PPE.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Health benefits that meet or exceed industry standards will be provided after a 3-month probationary period.
