Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Recreation Manager to lead planning and delivery of resident wellness programs, fostering engaging activities across seven wellness dimensions. You will supervise the recreation team, ensure safety, and coordinate with nursing, care, and family partners.

Responsibilities include developing diverse programming, maintaining records, and using Welbi insights to tailor activities, planning events, and contributing to a resident-centered community that supports dignity,

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation & Leisure Studies, Gerontology, Health Sciences program or related.
• Minimum of one year leadership experience in residential care or mental health.
• Valid Class 4 driver’s licence, CPR and First Aid, Food Safe, Serving It Right certifications.
• Understanding residents' backgrounds with engaging, creative approaches.
• Strong organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, support, guidance and mentorship to the recreation team.
• Oversees coordination of work routines to meet daily resident needs.
• Attends team meetings and participates in committees as applicable.
• Ensures compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Develops and evaluates diverse programs across seven wellness dimensions.
• Maintains resident profiles and attendance records; uses Welbi insights.
