Job summary

Optima Living, in partnership with PICS Society, seeks a dynamic Recreation Manager to lead resident wellness and engagement at the GNDV facility. You will design diverse programs, supervise the recreation team, and ensure person-centered care aligned with organizational values.

You will oversee budgeting, quality assurance, and partnerships with families, volunteers and community resources. A Class 4 license, CPR/First Aid, and experience in residential care are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Minimum of one year leadership experience in a residential care or mental health environment.
• Maintains a valid Class 4 driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Food Safe and Serving It Right certifications are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, support, guidance and mentorship to the recreation team.
• Develops and evaluates diverse programs within the seven dimensions of wellness.
• Maintains resident profiles, assessments and attendance records.
• Coordinates the volunteer program and communication tools (newsletters, posters, calendars).
• Plans evening and weekend programs and activities; operates a company vehicle safely.
• Collaborates with other teams to promote resident engagement and meets care conferences.
