Job summary

Magna International is seeking a Weld Technician to support and maintain welding processes on their shift. The role involves weld inspection, troubleshooting, parameter verification and continuous process improvements to meet customer specs.

The position requires welding-focused education and hands-on experience with MIG and resistance welding, plus the ability to document and analyze weld data for quality improvements. Starting wage is $34.41 per hour.

Qualifications

• Weld Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technician diploma (2 years) with 2 years welding experience.
• Weld Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technologist diploma (3 years) preferred.
• Strong math, organization and communication skills.
• Experience with robotic MIG and resistance welding; knowledge of destructive and non-destructive testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance for welding processes.
• Review weld inspection data and run data analyses from weld databases.
• Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance and engineering to meet goals.
• Lead weld-related failure investigations and containment actions.
• Document weld parameters, process controls and quality requirements.
