Job summary

Cosma International in Mississauga, part of Magna, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to administer and execute the preventative maintenance program for robotic welding equipment. You will perform safe and efficient repairs on Fanuc robots and welding equipment, and develop standardized resistance welding processes.

You will respond to corrective action reports, troubleshoot welding issues (resistance, MIG, drawn arc), maintain documentation, and support spare parts, schedules, and robot

Qualifications

• Must have valid provincial certificate or equivalent education.
• 2-5 years related experience in maintenance or welding.
• Good command of English, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Through our robust product engineering, outstanding tooling capabilities and diverse process expertise, we continue to bring lightweight and innovative products to market.Job Responsibilities:Job Responsibilities:Salary Range: $37.41 - $44.06 per hourAdminister and execute the preventative maintenance program.Safe and efficient repair and maintenance of Fanuc robots and welding equipment.Develop and standardize Resistance Welding processes.Implement systems to elongate electrode life (stepper programs, dressers, etc.)Respond to Corrective Action Reports (define root cause, implement corrections and evaluate implementation)Get involved in troubleshooting of resistance (spot and projection) welding issues mig welding and drawn arc welding.Develop documentation system for processes.Standardize welding consumables where possible to achieve cost reduction.Improve / develop / standardize destructive and non-destructive tests.Maintain a database with records of changes and welding schedules by machine/part.Support maintenance of spare parts list.Routine maintenance of production equipment to ensure the most efficient flow of production with the least possible downtime.Support welding development, new schedules and corrections on improvements as well as robot programming and scheduled maintenance.Work with production scheduler to schedule repairs ensuring scheduler is aware when work assignments cannot be completed as planned.Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments.Other Tasks:Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Magna Operational Principles in all aspects of position and interaction with others.Effective use of MDV’s Escalation Process.Compliance to IATF customer requirementsAttends all scheduled meetings and training.Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position.Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures.Other duties that may be assigned.Job Requirements:A valid Provincial Certificate or equivalent education.2-5 years related experienceGood command of the English language (both verbal and written).Must have Tool box / Tools required to carry out tasks of position.
