Job summary

Newforce Energy Services Ltd. is seeking a Welder's Helper to support field and shop operations while learning essential skills to progress toward a Welder role. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, safe work habits, and assisting with pipeline and facility construction.

You will assist with measuring, cutting, and preparing pipe sections, handling materials, and using basic tools under supervision. The position offers overtime and opportunities for career progression in an outdoor Alberta

Qualifications

• 1–3 years relevant oilfield/construction experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working outdoors.
• Safety tickets or willingness to obtain: CSO, First Aid, H2S Alive.

Responsibilities

• Assist Welders with measuring, cutting, and preparing pipe sections for welding.
• Load, unload, and move materials to designated work areas.
• Use basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
• Clean and prepare piping components, fittings, and materials.
• Support layout activities by organizing tools, parts, and equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Learn to read simple drawings and material markings.
• Assist with storage and disposal of gases under pressure.
• Participate in pre-task preparation and daily job planning.
• Support tool inventories and report damaged tools.

Skills

Experience 1-3 years

Valid Class 5 driver's licence
