The Foreman represents their trade on a project or group of projects within the ship class(es). This position manages and controls trade processes and procedures to support NASSCO's safety, quality, schedule, cost, and continuous improvement goals.
Typically has a BA/BS plus 4 years in a related field, or AA/AS plus 8 years of directly related experience, or 10 years of directly related shipbuilding/ship repair experience in supervisory roles.

Reports to the General Foreman, with possible dual reporting to the Production Manager. Manages 20-50 direct and indirect reports, including skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled mechanics, and subcontractors. Supports program and production management by monitoring and managing manpower, quality, safety, schedule, and budget performance. Maintains communication across all levels to improve processes.
Responsible to the General Foreman, Production Manager, and Project Manager(s) for the performance of trade personnel, ensuring adherence to budget, quality, manpower, schedule, and safety standards.

Willingness to travel, reliable transportation, ability to operate a company vehicle, and access to all work locations including shipyards and vessels. Must have good attendance and punctuality, be physically capable of working in all areas of the facility and outdoors, and work in various climates. Must be familiar with naval ship repair environments, including working aboard vessels, climbing ladders, working in tanks and confined spaces, and wearing PPE. Areas can be dirty, dusty, hot, cold, and noisy.
$78,000 - $102,375 annually
