Wesgar Inc. in Port Coquitlam, BC is seeking experienced welders for morning or afternoon shifts to weld and fabricate precision metal components according to drawings and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have hands-on TIG and MIG welding experience, at least 2 years in metal fabrication, strong blueprint reading, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs while maintaining safety and accuracy on the shop floor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of welding experience in the metal fabrication industry.
  • Hands-on experience with TIG and MIG welding.
  • Experience welding aluminum, stainless steel and steel is preferred.
  • Good mechanical blueprint reading skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, punctuality and reliability.
  • High school education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Perform precision welding using TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) processes.
  • Weld aluminum, stainless steel, and steel components.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment safely and correctly.
  • Fit, braze, torch-straighten, and prepare metal parts as required.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing parts carefully to prevent damage or injury.
  • Identify welding equipment issues and perform minor maintenance or report concerns as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Position Summary

We are looking for experienced Welders to join our production team on the morning or afternoon shift. This role is responsible for welding and fabricating precision metal components according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with TIG and MIG welding, strong blueprint reading skills, and at least 2 years of experience in the metal fabrication industry.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Attributes
  • Previous experience in precision sheet metal or custom fabrication.
  • Experience with arc and gas welding equipment.
  • Familiarity with automated or semi‑automated welding equipment.
  • First Aid certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience performing minor maintenance on welding, brazing, or soldering equipment.
Schedule & Pay Details
  • Morning Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
  • Location: Pitt Meadows, BC | Port Coquitlam, BC
  • Pay: $25.00 – $34.00 per hour, based on skill level, experience, and welding test performance
  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Overtime: May be required as needed
  • Work Location: In person

Please note that public transit availability may be limited after 7:00 PM in some work locations. Access to a personal vehicle is considered an asset.
