Job summary

Our Scarborough client, a leader in retail displays, seeks a Welder to join the team on a temporary/contract basis with full-time hours. The role involves MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless, plus fabricating displays and fixtures in a growing, ISO/OHSA-compliant environment.

You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and ensure weld quality while maintaining a safe, organized workspace. Pay is $22–$25/hour, Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of welding experience.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components.
• Fabricate custom retail displays, fixtures, shelving systems, and structural components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and BOMs.
• Set up welding equipment and adjust machine settings per project requirements.
• Create, follow, and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Grind, deburr, and finish welded components to meet quality standards.
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for compliance with specifications.
• Perform basic measurements using tape measures, calipers, and angle gauges.
• Identify and report material defects and equipment issues.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Tag, label, and organize completed work orders and finished products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow ISO, OHSA, and company safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of Welding experience
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Ability to troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent attention to detail

Bonus Qualifications:

• CWB Certification (asset)
• Laser welding experience (asset)
• Experience working in a custom fabrication, display manufacturing, or fixture manufacturing environment (asset)

Compensation and Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 3:30pm
• Pay Rate: $22-25 per hour
