Job summary

Prairie Machine seeks a skilled Welder to operate welding equipment and join ferrous and non-ferrous metals with precision. A steady hand and attention to detail are essential, along with knowledge of different metals and their properties.

You will read blueprints, set up equipment, and perform welding in various positions. This role offers day, night, and weekend shifts with premium pay opportunities and overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• Apprentice / Journeyperson or equivalent relevant experience.
• Valid CWB certified.
• 3+ years experience with Mig (steel).
• Experience with Tig, stainless steel & aluminum is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments.
• Operate submerged Arc welding equipment.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment.
• Operate metal shaping machines.
• Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
• Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
