Modine invites applications for a Welder Apprentice on the Afternoon Shift in Calgary. You will perform high-quality welding on light gauge steel, aluminum, and stainless steel using FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW.

You will read blueprints, maintain weld quality, and collaborate with the team to meet production goals while following safety and respirator requirements.

Qualifications

  • CWB tickets for all positions with certification or minimum of 2nd year apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience with FCAW and GMAW welding.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with welding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using shears and press brakes is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW (TIG) welding on various materials.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld specifications.
  • Ensure weld quality meets company and industry standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on welding equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
