Job summary

AAA-Canada seeks a Welder-Assembler for large-scale shipbuilding projects in Canada. You will weld by arc, trace, cut, shape, and assemble parts according to plans, with day/evening/weekend shifts and a per diem for non-local candidates in Levis, Quebec.

You will set up equipment, replace wires, and ensure joints, alignment, and straightening meet quality and OHS standards while working on major aerospace, ground transportation, and defense projects.

Qualifications

• DEP in welding-assembly is required.
• Experience in welding on large-scale projects.
• Valid CWB 4 positions cards (FCAW-M Marine) CSA W47.1-M.

Responsibilities

• Weld by arc, trace, cut, shape, and assemble parts according to plans and specs.
• Set up and maintain equipment, replace electrode wires, lay joints, use patterns and jigs.
• Validate tightness, operate profiling machines, ensure alignment and deliver compliant structures.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the foreman, you weld by arc, trace, cut, shape, and assemble parts according to plans and specifications;
• You set up and maintain your equipment, replace electrode wires, lay joints, and work with patterns and jigs to guarantee flawless execution.
• You validate tightness, operate profiling machines, ensure the assembly, alignment, and straightening of components, and then deliver straight, solid structures compliant with quality and OHS standards.

Additional info:

A CWB FCAW-M (Marine) competency card (according to the CSA W47.1-M standard) for all 4 positions qualifies a welder to perform flux-cored arc welding work under gas protection (Flux-Core) in all orientations: flat (1F/1G), horizontal (2F/2G), vertical (3F/3G), and overhead (4F/4G).

• Day: 4-day week x 10 hours
• Evening: 4-day week x 10 hours
• Weekend: 3-day week x 12 hours (paid 40 hours)

Specific safety conditions (Government requirement)

Due to the nature of federal and military contracts executed at the shipyard, the selected candidate must:

• Be eligible to obtain a security clearance from the Government of Canada's Contract Security Program (CSP).
• Hold a history of continuous residence in Canada (generally the last 5 years).

You must be available for all shifts. Although we take your schedule preferences (day, evening, weekend) into account when creating schedules, they cannot be guaranteed.
