Job summary

Surface To Surface Inc. designs and manufactures mud-mixing systems for the directional drilling and mineral exploration industries. We seek a skilled Welder Fabricator to join our production team and build high-quality equipment our customers rely on.

As a Welder Fabricator, you will read blueprints, fabricate components, and perform clean, precise welds on carbon steel and stainless steel. This hands-on role requires attention to detail, safety, and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years welding and fabrication in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of fabrication tools and shop safety practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to determine fabrication specs.
• Set up and operate MIG/TIG/Stick welding as required.
• Cut, shape, and fit metal components with fabricating tools.
• Perform quality checks on welds and parts to meet specs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to troubleshoot issues.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to read blueprints, fabricate components, and produce clean, structurally sound welds on a variety of materials. This role is a great fit for someone who takes pride in precision work and wants to be part of a hands-on manufacturing team.

What You'll Do

• Read and interpret drawings and work orders to determine fabrication specifications.
• Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, and/or Stick, as required)
• Cut, shape, and fit metal components using saws, shears, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools
• Perform quality checks on finished welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet specifications and tolerances
• Operate grinders and other finishing tools to prepare and clean welds
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety standards
• Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to troubleshoot fabrication issues
• Maintain and perform basic upkeep on welding and fabrication equipment

What You'll Need

• [3+] years of hands-on welding and fabrication experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
• Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of fabrication tools, techniques, and shop safety practices
• Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, squares, etc.) and provided jigs
• Physical ability to lift [up to 50 lbs], stand for extended periods, and work in a shop environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality artistry
• Welding certification(s) preferred but not required
