The Opportunity

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Welder (DAYS) who wants steady, hands‑on production work in a metal fabrication environment where skill, accuracy, and consistency are valued.

The role is well‑suited to someone who is comfortable with fitting, fabrication, technical drawings, weld symbols, quality inspections, and production timelines. You will be working on metal components and assemblies that require careful setup, clean execution, and a strong eye for quality throughout the welding process.

For the right candidate, this role offers a good mix of independence and team support. You will be expected to organize your work, complete welding and fabrication tasks to specification, support quality requirements, and contribute to a production environment focused on continuous improvement, safety, and doing the job right.

Position Description

The Welder will perform fitting, welding, and fabrication work in support of production requirements within a multi‑shift manufacturing operation.

You will review assigned daily work schedules, organize welding orders for your shift, and complete welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and other applicable welding techniques. Much of the work involves mild steel, with additional exposure to other metals depending on production needs.

The days‑based role requires the ability to interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, measurements, procedures, and work orders. You will set up and lay out work using fixtures, jigs, and guides, then fit and fabricate parts and assemblies according to specification.

Quality is a key part of the position. You will monitor each stage of the welding process, assess weld quality, identify potential flaws or production issues, and support First Article Inspection requirements. You will also work with production leadership and quality personnel to help resolve non‑conformance issues related to part damage, shortages, tolerances, or other production concerns.

At the end of each shift, you will review ERP work‑hour entries by work order for accuracy and completeness, addressing any errors on a daily basis.

You will also be expected to maintain welding equipment and work areas according to company standards and preventative maintenance requirements, follow health and safety practices, participate in required certification training, and assist with improvements to welding processes and techniques.

Experience

The ideal candidate will bring a solid welding background in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment, with the ability to work from drawings, fit and fabricate parts, maintain weld quality, and support production requirements in a safe, organized shop setting.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience, preferably in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment
  • CWB 47.1 certification required
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW welding processes
  • Strong fitting and fabrication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, measurements, procedures, and work orders
  • Experience working with mild steel and other metals
  • Ability to use fixtures, jigs, and guides to fit, fabricate, and assemble parts
  • Strong attention to weld quality, accuracy, tolerances, and production detail
  • Ability to inspect welds, identify flaws, and recognize potential quality concerns
  • Comfortable supporting production schedules, work orders, and shop‑floor priorities
  • Commitment to safe work practices, proper use of equipment, and maintaining an organized work area
  • Good communication skills and a dependable, team-focused approach
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and adaptability when production needs change
  • CWB 47.2 certification
  • Experience with tank production and seam welds
  • Experience with robotic welding or automation
  • Forklift certification
Education
  • High school diploma is required
  • A college diploma, technician certificate, formal technical training, or equivalent work experience in welding and fitting would be considered an asset
