Job summary

DME Process Systems in Charlottetown, PEI, is seeking a motivated Welder/Fabricator to join the production team. The role involves layout, fit-up, fabrication and assembly of stainless-steel process equipment and tanks in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

The successful candidate will have welding and fabrication experience; training is provided for motivated individuals with strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in welding or fabrication is preferred.
• Red Seal certification is an asset.
• Ability to perform basic welding; weld test required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
• Perform layouts and measurements from drawings
• Fit and assemble fabricated components and sheet metal parts
• Prepare joints and perform tack welding
• Install fittings, nozzles, and process connections
• Purge weld stainless steel tube, pipe, and fittings
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow production procedures and quality requirements
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform welding and finishing work in confined spaces and at heights when required
• Support other production activities as assigned

Position Overview

DME is seeking motivated Welder/Fabricators to join our production team. This position involves the layout, fit-up, fabrication, and assembly of stainless-steel process equipment and tanks in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have welding and fabrication experience; however, training will be provided to motivated individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

Reporting to the Production Team Lead, the Welder/Fabricator will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality workmanship and efficient project completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and engineering specifications
• Perform accurate layouts and measurements from drawings
• Fit and assemble fabricated components and sheet metal parts
• Prepare joints and perform tack welding
• Install fittings, nozzles, and process connections
• Purge weld stainless steel tube, pipe, and fittings
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Follow production procedures and quality requirements
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform welding and finishing work in confined spaces and at heights when required
• Support other production activities as assigned
