Valmetal is seeking a daytime Daytime Assembler to ensure smooth project workflow from reading plans to assembly. You will calibrate welding devices, assemble and weld parts, and move components with a positioner or cranes while maintaining quality and safety.

In this role you read drawings, verify welding symbols, and keep meticulous records. Ideal candidates have a DEP or equivalent and up to 2 years welding experience; crane certification is a plus.

• 0–2 years welding or similar experience.
• Overhead crane operator card is an asset.

Would you like to be responsible for the smooth running of all the tasks on a project, from reading the plans provided by engineering to assembly? On a daytime schedule, you'll need to calibrate the welding machines, assemble the components, and move them around with a positioner, overhead crane, or jib. The \"manual side\" in you will be satisfied!

Duties and responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings or welding technical specifications
• Calibrate the welding device
• Assemble and weld parts according to drawings and templates
• Sand welded parts
• Inspect the quality of welded parts
• Use a positioner, overhead crane or jib crane to move parts
• Help support the activities of other departments
• Compressed schedule to take advantage of Friday afternoons off
• Up to 5 weeks of vacation per year, including 3 weeks of vacation upon being hired
• Paid clothing and equipment

• Demonstrate autonomy and professionalism
• Be precise and meticulous

Qualifications

• Diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in welding and assembly or equivalent diploma (completed or in progress)
• 0 to 2 years of experience in welding or a similar position
• Overhead crane operator card (asset)
