Job summary

ISE Metal Inc. in Sherbrooke is seeking a Welder responsible for interpreting blueprints and performing assembly and welding tasks across components we manufacture. The role requires minimal supervision and a commitment to quality.

Key duties include welding steel (GMAW/FCAW) and aluminum (GTAW/MIG), reading blueprints, monitoring weld parameters, inspecting parts, and operating a welding robot. Safe practices and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Vocational Studies in Welding or Welding and Fabrication required.
• Experience with TIG and MIG welding processes.
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Aluminum welding experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Weld various steel components using required welding processes (GMAW/FCAW).
• Weld and assemble aluminum components using GTAW and GMAW.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints.
• Understand welding parameters and their effects on weld quality.
• Inspect completed parts visually and with measuring instruments for quality and specs.
• Operate welding robot and perform basic programming/handling tasks.
• Operate lifting equipment to position and form parts for assembly.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Main Responsibilities

The Welder is responsible for understanding and interpreting blueprints and is capable of performing both assembly and welding tasks for the various types of components manufactured by the company. The incumbent carries out these responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Weld various steel components using the required welding processes, primarily GMAW and FCAW ;
• Weld and assemble aluminum components using GTAW and GMAW welding processes;
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints;
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of welding parameters and their effects on weld quality;
• Inspect completed parts visually and using measuring instruments to verify quality and compliance with specifications;
• Operate the welding robot and perform basic programming and handling tasks;
• Operate lifting equipment and tools used to position and form parts for assembly;
• Maintain and promote a clean and safe work environment at all times;
• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

What We Offer

• We currently have two Welder positions available. One position is located at 20 Route de Windsor, Sherbrooke, and the other is located at 4065 Portland Boulevard, Sherbrooke;
• Work schedule: 40 hours per week;
• Salary: Based on experience;
• Two (2) weeks of vacation;Seven (7) paid working days during the annual holiday shutdown period;
