Job summary

Right Choice Energy Services Inc. (RCESI) is seeking Welder Apprentices to join our team in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals enrolled in a Welding Apprenticeship to continue developing skills while contributing to fabrication and construction in shop and field environments. Reporting to the Shop and Site Supervisors, you will support fabrication activities, read drawings, and weld components while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Welding Apprenticeship or willing to enroll.
  • Ability to read shop drawings and welding symbols; knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, and MCAW considered an asset.
  • Safety conscious with strong teamwork and communication.
  • Physically capable of lifting over 20 lbs, standing for extended periods, and travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Read drawings to determine fabrication requirements per client specifications and weld procedures.
  • Weld components as assigned.
  • Safely operate welding equipment, power tools, hand tools, and mobile equipment as required.
  • Participate in RCESI's Quality Control and Safety Programs.
  • Coordinate with coworkers and Supervisors to ensure timely, quality fabrication.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Right Choice Energy Services Inc. (RCESI) is currently accepting applications for Welder Apprentices to join our growing team based in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Shop and/or Site Supervisor(s), you will play an important role in supporting fabrication and construction activities in both our shop and field environments. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals currently enrolled in a Welding Apprenticeship who are looking to continue developing their skills and build a career within the skilled trades.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings to determine layout and fabrication requirements in accordance with client specifications and weld procedures
  • Welding components as required and assigned
  • Safely operating welding equipment, power tools, hand tools, and mobile equipment as required and certified
  • Participating in and ensuring adherence to RCESI's Quality Control Program and Safety Program
  • Communicating effectively with coworkers and Supervisor(s) to ensure timely and quality fabrication
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Performing other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will be:

  • Currently registered in a Welding Apprenticeship program or interested in registering (registration is considered an asset but is not mandatory)
  • Familiar with reading shop drawings and welding symbols, with knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, and/or MCAW welding processes considered an asset
  • Safety conscious and committed to meeting all safety requirements
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the position, including lifting over 20lbs, standing for extended periods, and demonstrating worksite mobility
  • Hold or be willing to obtain before their start date, valid First Aid and H2S Alive certifications
  • Be willing to work overtime and weekends when required
  • Be willing to travel throughout Southern Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba
  • Hold a valid driver's licence with a clean driver's abstract

This is a safety-sensitive position. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test. In addition, audiometric and lung function testing will be scheduled by the Health & Safety Coordinator upon hire in accordance with applicable provincial regulations.
